Inside you'll find the first Christian Education Center on the Internet built exclusively for members of the Church of Latter-day Saints -- by non-Mormons! We cordially invite you to come in and find a comfortable seat in the conference room. We have attempted to present this material in the spirit of a statement made by Mormon Apostle Orson Pratt, who said:

". . . convince us of our errors of doctrine, if we have any, by reason, by logical arguments, or by the word of God, and we will be ever grateful for the information, and you will ever have the pleasing reflection that you have been instruments in the hands of God of redeeming your fellow beings from the darkness which you may see enveloping their minds."

ExMormon.org

Of all the online outreaches to people trapped in cults, one of my favorites is ExMormon.org ( http://www.exmormon.org/ ). This apologetics site to members of the Latter-day Saints (Mormon) Church is no newbie to the Net. Originally called "Recovery from Mormonism" when it went online in November 1995, today ExMormon.org includes more than 100 testimonies from former Mormons about why they left that church, and several testimonies from former Jehovah's Witnesses.

The site includes a wealth of information about Mormonism, including articles, a very active bulletin board (30,000-plus hits a day), an e-mail support group, and a list of contacts, by geographic location, who are willing to help minister to those considering Mormonism, or wanting to leave the Mormon Church. The people behind ExMormon.org also host regular chats on IRC, as a means of reaching out.

ExMormon.org is a very well done apologetics site that seeks to minister to a specific group over the Internet. In March 2000 the site garnered more than 1.1 million hits for the month -- evidence that the ministry is getting noticed. ExMormon.org was an E-vangelism Site of the Week for the week of September 25, 2000.

Gentile Girl: Living with the Latter-day Saints

Book Details Life as a Christian Among Mormons After visiting the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and being impressed by the scope of Mormon hospitality and the appeal to the senses prompted by bright spires and clean-cut morality, many visitors may wonder, "So why aren't they considered Christians?" Carol Avery Forseth addresses this question and others in her memoir Gentile Girl: Living with the Latter-day Saints. Published by Crossroads Press in Fort Collins, Colo., in January 2002, the book centers around the two years Forseth spent at Brigham Young University as part of the "Gentile" minority. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), headquartered in Salt Lake City, consider those who do not belong to the church Gentiles.

Forseth decided to write the book after receiving many requests and realizing she could provide insight into Mormonism because of attending BYU. Forseth entered the university as a recently-saved Christian who became lonely and oppressed amid people who hold such differing views. She left the university as a confident, secure woman who said she had learned how to peacefully coexist with Mormons. The book also includes three helpful appendices: additional sources, tips on how to treat Mormon friends, and Bible verses that contradict Mormon doctrine. Although various critics criticized the book for not taking a strong stand in either direction, the objective perspective enhances the book. Forseth's ability to report what she experienced provides for an accurate and fair study of the Latter-day Saints. As for the Christian question, Forseth has a diplomatic answer. "They certainly are by their definition," she said. "But I believe that the Jesus they worship is significantly different from the Jesus of the Bible."

New Light on the Generation of 1914
Roger DeLozier
J. Witnesses

For decades the Watchtower Society prophesied that many people from 'the generation of 1914' would live to see 'the evil system of things' destroyed and paradise restored on earth. This teaching was so important to the Society that it declared it the reason for publishing its worldwide 'Awake!' magazine. How many people from the generation of 1914 are alive today -- and why was the statement in 'Awake!' suddenly changed in November of 1995? This tract provides the answers. Available also in Russian.

You may download, print and duplicate our web based materials without any limits as long as they are not used for commercial purposes. Please see Our Ministry for details.

The tracts on our Web site focus on common methods and lines of reasoning that have been used effectively to reach out to those in the cults. We are not trying to develop some unique system, but emphasize methods which we have been taught from others, combining this with what we have learned through our own personal experiences.

We owe a debt of gratitude to our mentors, who taught us how to approach those caught up in the cults and aberrant Christian movements. We recognize their contribution to the materials presented above. Although we want to recognize the contributions of others, we do not want to give the impression that this is second-hand information. All of the tracts are based on information from primary resources. Some of it is based on our personal research. Other times we have used books written about the cults to point us to useful information in the publications of the groups we are reviewing. We then study the information sited, looking up everything in the cult's publications, making sure that the information was not taken out of context. Then we write up the results of our investigation drawing from the primary resources we have studied.

For those who would like to learn more, we highly recommend that you read the books presented in our Cult Bibliography. Much of the information in the tracts above was introduced to us through reading these and other resources on reaching out to those caught up in the Kingdom of the Cults.

You can read fully formatted versions of these tracts with the Adobe Acrobat reader. The reader is free of charge. There are different versions available for Windows 95, Windows 3.0, Macintosh, and several other computer operating systems. Just follow the link on the site to download Adobe Acrobat Reader.

More About Ministering To Mormons

Ralph Wilson has written two helpful, cut-to-the-chase articles to help evangelical Christians better understand the dangers of Mormonism and the Jehovah's Witnesses belief. You can find his articles, "Seven Ways Jehovah's Witnesses Distort True Christianity" and "Six Reasons Why Mormonism Can't Be True Christianity," at http://www.joyfulheart.com/cults/ .

Please understand that these articles aren't intended to be shared with members of those beliefs, but to help evangelical Christians gain a firmer grasp on exactly what members of these two cults believe, in order to better minister to them when the opportunity arises.

Out Of Mormonism: A Woman'S True Story

Honest and eye-opening, Out Of Mormonism takes readers where few will ever see--behind the doors of the Mormon church and into the lives of a family seeking to leave. Part apologetic and part autobiography, the book begins with an explanation of how author Judy Robertson and her family were drawn into Mormonism, how they were constantly lived a life that never quite measured up even though they were "temple-worthy Mormons," and how they finally found their freedom. Out Of Mormonism also compares Mormon beliefs with biblical truths. A great resource. Plus you can now get special rates for ministries! Reachout Trust is an international Christian ministry that equips the church, upholds biblical truth and builds bridges to people in the cults, occult, and new age. Its primary aim is reaching out to the people involved in these groups. This is achieved through various means.

We will:

Examine in the light of the Christian gospel the beliefs and spirituality of people within the cults, occults, new age and all not upholding to biblical truth.

Train and equip Christians to explain the Christian gospel in a relevant way.

Provide a complete service of advice and help to all enquirers. Present the Christian gospel.

Work with organisations who will help achieve these aims.

We achieve these aims through several means:

  1. Equipping Christians to be effective witnesses to people involved.
  2. Providing relevant teaching and resource material for use in training and witnessing.
  3. Providing advisors for people wishing to leave the group they are involved in.
  4. Providing a general information service on the cults, occult, new age and all groups holding to non-biblical teaching.

If you require further information or help please contact us, either by phone, letter or e-mail. The simplest way is to fill in the response form provided on this site. We will do everything we can to be of service to you. If you require help on a more personal level then we could arrange for an advisor to contact you.
