Devos and Gutsy Acts: Email Helps for Teens to Live Their Faith

Teens today face challenges when it comes to sharing their faith, and Youth for Christ (YFC) wants to help by providing teens with practical ways to live their faith and grow closer to God. Now through "Devos and Gutsy Acts," a free email and online service from YFC's Live the Life (LTL) Online, teens can study God's Word and discover how it applies to them. At the LTL Web site, teens, ministry leaders and adults can also enjoy "Eva's Tips and Tricks" for sharing one's faith and confronting issues; "Campus Strategies" with advice on starting Bible study groups on campus; and "Tough Questions," examining probing questions about Christianity. YFC also provides several chat areas for teen interaction.

Global Cell Church Missions Network Summit

Each November for the past few years God has brought a growing number of Cell Church leaders and mission-freaks together from around the globe for 4 to 5 inspiring days of relationship building, prayer and strategising together. Out of these gatherings new national networks have come into being which are beginning to impact their nations, a new frontier missionary movement is gathering momentum, and resources, church planting and training concepts are spreading from nation to nation.

Greetings from NBS

Changing the world one neighborhood at a time through the study of God's Word. I've thought a lot about what that means to me personally. When I think of the world, I am overwhelmed, but what about my neighborhood? This is a place where lives of future generations are being molded. What is my contribution to this neighborhood besides "Hi!" or "How are you doing?" as I leave or return home. Am I really connected to my neighbors or have I kept my distance?

Most of the time LIFE captivates every waking moment. We are caught up in the past or future and we miss the present. On my computer, the program Ascend assists me in organizing my daily activities and future plans. When I turn on my computer, a Scripture verse appears, reminding me of my life values, goals and priorities: my commitment to God, others, and myself.

This is not my only check point but it is very helpful. It keeps bringing me back to the present, reminding me not to worry about life - what I will eat, drink or wear. Jesus taught us that worry is useless. We should be like children who easily get caught up in the moment because they trust someone will take care of them. Likewise, God wants us to be his children, living in the present, trusting him to take care of the rest. I continue to see how freeing it is when I bring my day to him and function by his direction rather than my own. After all, we are not guaranteed tomorrow. As important, yet often overlooked, part of our present is the place where we live and those who live beside us. Jesus came to change the world, and he began in just a few neighborhoods. As I traveled through Israel recently, I started to feel and see what these neighborhoods were like where he spent his time. Jesus was passionate about his purpose - that all may come to know him. He took time to care for the individual - those who were acceptable and those who did not fit in. His love cut across all differences of culture, ethnicity, and race. His passion was contagious, drawing many to him. News of his work spread from neighborhood to neighborhood.

Changing our world can begin in our neighborhoods. A small group Bible study gives us the opportunity to spread Jesus' Word and to care for individual needs. Often, these groups continue to grow, divide, and multiply, impacting many other neighborhoods and giving more people an opportunity to meet Jesus.

Think and pray with me about changing the world one neighborhood at a time through the study of God's Word. The most important gift we can give someone is to introduce them to Jesus. And that is the focus of Neighborhood Bible Studies. As friends and co-laborers, may our focus be in the present, and on the lives we touch daily. Together with Christ, we can truly have an impact on our families, our neighbors, and ultimately the world.

Executive Director
