Sammy Tippit Ministries
www.sammytippit.org
And finally, Sammy Tippit Ministries is planning to make its
website multi-lingual in the months ahead. The Texas based evangelist
says they will provide daily devotionals, books, discipleship tools, and
evangelistic messages on-line. Tippit says this is something Christians
in countries closed to the Gospel have been asking for. "A group of
people from an undisclosed country said to us, as soon as we get that up
they'll pass the word throughout their whole network in their nation - and
there will be lot of people coming from their nation - which no
missionaries are in. Nobody can get into, but right now they are not
blocking people from going to Christian websites. So, we can, through the
web, in the language of the people, actually get our message in." Tippit
says they're initially targeting eight languages, which could take five
months to complete.

BibleDiscoveryCenter.org
New Website Encourages Believers To Get Back To The Bible
A radio ministry has launched a website (BibleDiscoveryCenter.org)
designed to encourage people to read and study the Scriptures. Back to
the Bible's Woodrow Kroll says the website is helping people discover
the Bible for themselves. "It is giving them the tools to know how to
take God's Word, open it every day like I do every day, and find what
is in there. Mine the wealth of gold that comes out of His Word. . . .
It's probably the most exciting thing we've done in several years."
Barna research indicates that many people who claim to know Christ
aren't reading the Bible. Kroll says that's why evangelism isn't
flourishing in American churches today. "Until we get our minds full
of God's Word, we really don't have anything to tell as disciples."

Andrew Careaga's Advice
http://www.e-vangelism.com
andrew@e-vangelism.com
I've seen several good efforts under way to use the Net as a means for
discipling Christians. Many of them are piecemeal, however, and seem to be
more interested in promoting a specific ministry or product than in true
discipleship. In addition, few of these efforts are clearly labeled as
"discipleship" sites. One good site for new Christians is
http://www.newchristian.com which has discipleship as its express purpose.
Online discipleship efforts will be more successful, I believe, if they are
integrated into A.) the online evangelism efforts, and B.) the broader
church/Christian community.
The Fishthe.Net site has a good page called "Evangelism Tackle Box" which
lists several resources (most apologetics resources) that might be helpful
in discipleship. The direct link to that section of the site is

Becoming a Discipler

A Biblical Christian Disciple
A list of qualities of the Christian disciple.
Jesus commanded us to go and "make" disciples of all nations. Not go and make converts, but disciples. Converts are born.
Disciples are made. "Discipleship." is the process of "making" people into Christians who live the Christ-like lifestyle.
Discipleship, or Christian Education, is most simply put, "Christians helping each other to become more like Christ."
But The Bible does not give an organized list of a discipled Christian, at least in a way we could build a curriculum with. So we
decided to make such a list.
